What is the Pondera® Virtual Coach?
The Pondera® Virtual Coach profile is a psychological assessment tool designed to assist college and professional sports organizations to effectively coach and develop players for peak performance. For elite athletes, the game is always mental as well as physical. The Pondera® Virtual Coach profile provides assistance to the organization in identifying and developing players who will be a complimentary fit with the team.
The psychological data that informs the tool is drawn from a battery of psychological assessments that are normed and validated and meet the standards of the American Psychological Association. They are used for measuring normal personality, which means they measure things such as your preferred operating style, motivations, personality traits, and approach to learning and decision making. Every person is born with an innate set of preferences, similar to being right- or left-handed. Just like neither of these is better or worse, there is no right or wrong response to the questions. The only correct response is the one that best reflects who you are.
Where does the data come from?
The data is collected by having players complete a thorough psychological evaluation which is then analyzed and imported into a Pondera® Virtual Coach Team Report: a user-friendly report that provides information on each individual player and the team as a whole. When this information is combined with the organization’s knowledge of each player’s physical skills, it is expected that it will help the team gain a more well-rounded picture of each player and help the team to effectively develop and coach each player to a successful career.
