Elizabeth Bogo

In recent years Elizabeth has actively volunteered in the East Grand Rapids Public School System, serving as President of the Wealthy PTA, President of the PTA Council, Youth Development Board member, and Spirit Shop Co-Director. She has also served on the John Ball Zoo Board and was actively involved in their special events and fundraisers. Elizabeth has volunteered with the Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired, West Michigan Down’s Syndrome Association, Gilda’s Club, Kids Food Basket and Catholic Social Services. She is a long time member of Mayflower Church where she has taught Sunday school and served on the Youth Council.
 
Upon arriving in Grand Rapids 17 years ago, Elizabeth joined Williams Marketing where she worked on the Steelcase account as Project Manager and Event Coordinator for The Ergonomics Consortium. She continued to do contract work for Williams after leaving to stay home with her children. She has also done contract work for Gilda’s Club, Alticor, The Carbon Neutral Company and the Grand Rapids Chamber of Commerce.  Before moving to Grand Rapids, Elizabeth worked in Boston for Scudder, Stevens & Clarke as registered mutual fund advisor and then with The Fidelity Group in the publishing sector.  She served as the Marketing and Circulation Manager for a group of 14 weekly newspapers.
 
Elizabeth graduated with a BA in Business from Colby College in Waterville, Maine in 1987. As a student she worked in the admissions office and served as a campus tour guide. She also spent a semester working at Williston-Northampton Preparatory School in the College Counseling Office.
 
Elizabeth is married with three children and lives in East Grand Rapids. She enjoys spending time with her family and attending as many of her children’s activities as possible. Their favorite spot is a family cottage on Walloon Lake in Northern Michigan. Elizabeth is an avid reader and loves to take long walks, play tennis, golf and ski. She and her husband, Dan also enjoy finding great restaurants and exploring new places.
